The Michigan men’s gymnastics team captured the 2014 Big Ten Championship Friday night at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The title marks the Wolverines’ second consecutive crown and 17th overall.
Minnesota and Nebraska clinched a share of the regular-season Big Ten Women’s Gymnastics Championship after finishing with 6-1 Big Ten records. The Golden Gophers placed first in their Big Ten quad meet versus Iowa, Michigan and Penn State after scoring 196.700 points, while Nebraska recorded 197.050 points in its quad meet against Illinois, Michigan State and Ohio State.
Paced by a program-record 49.725 on vault, the No. 9 Nebraska women’s gymnastics team captured its third consecutive conference crown – the last two coming in the Big Ten – Saturday night at the 2013 Big Ten Women’s Gymnastics Championships.
The second day of the 2012 Big Ten Men’s Gymnastics Championships saw individual event winners crowned and All-Conference teams and award winners announced on Saturday night. Four schools won event titles, including two each for both Illinois and Michigan. Paul Ruggeri won both individual event championships for the Illini, while Sam Mikulak took home two titles for the Wolverines.
