The 2013 Big Ten Baseball Tournament got underway Wednesday at Target Field. No. 4 Minnesota carded a 3-2 walk-off victory over No. 5 Illinois, and No. 3 Nebraska routed No. 6 Michigan, 11-2. BTN/BTN2Go to air entire Big Ten baseball tourney

CHICAGO – For the fifth straight year, BTN will televise live every game of the Big Ten Baseball Tournament. Coverage begins Wednesday and continues until Saturday, with a game on Sunday if necessary. The entire tournament will take place at Target Field, home of Major League Baseball’s Minnesota Twins. Purdue won the tournament title last year, earning the Big Ten’s automatic bid to the NCAA Baseball Championship. A nightly episode of the Big Ten Diamond Report will air following the last game of each day throughout the tournament. Rick Pizzo and Mike Hall will host the shows, along with analyst

Big Ten releases All-Big Ten baseball teams

The Big Ten announced Tuesday its 2013 All-Big Ten teams and individual award winners. Big Ten champion Indiana was well represented, as it took home Pitcher of the Year (Aaron Slegers) and Coach of the Year (Tracy Smith). Illinois’ Justin Parr was named Player of the Year and Kevin Duchene earned Freshman of the Year honors. See the teams in this post. Indiana earns No. 1 seed in Big Ten baseball tourney

Fresh off its first outright Big Ten title since 1932, Indiana will be the No. 1 seed in the Big Ten baseball tournament Wednesday-Saturday (Sunday, if necessary) at Target Field. Nebraska no hits Arkansas for first no-no since 1993

A trio of Nebraska pitchers combined for the team’s first no-hitter since 1993 in the first game of Tuesday’s doubleheader sweep of No. 12 Arkansas. Big Ten releases Baseball All-Tournament Team

Following the completion of the 2012 Big Ten Baseball Tournament on Saturday night, the Big Ten office released the all-tournament team. Purdue won the school’s first Big Ten tourney, thanks to an exciting 6-5 victory over heated rival Indiana, and it had five players earn honors, headlined by Most Outstanding Player Kevin Plawecki. Ohio State Knocks Out Nebraska, 6-2

Ohio State built a 3-0 lead before Nebraska answered with two runs in the sixth inning, but the Buckeyes held on to eliminate the Huskers with a 6-2 win in Friday’s first game of the Big Ten Baseball Tournament.
