Several Big Ten wrestling teams were in action on Friday night. Nebraska got their first Big Ten dual victory of the season with a 20-19 win over Michigan and improve to 7-3 on the season. The third-ranked Minnesota wrestling team rallied past No. 15 Oregon State, 21-18, Saturday night at the Sports Pavilion. The match came down to the heavyweight battle, and it was Minnesota’s Tony Nelson notching a double-overtime victory over Oregon State’s Chad Hanke. Watch our interview with Nelson now.

The No. 1 Gophers opened Big Ten action against the No. 9 ranked Cornhuskers and came out with a 27-7 win on Friday night.

Penn State was simply dominant en route to winning its second consecutive Big Ten Wrestling Championship on Sunday, crowning three repeat champions in a memorable title match run at Mackey Arena. The Nittany Lions were nearly perfect throughout Sunday’s session and ran away from both Minnesota and Iowa in the team title race. Penn State also has qualified nine wrestlers for NCAAs, with a 10th alive for an at-large bid.
