See 2014 Women's ACC/B1G Challenge games

The matchups for the 2014 ACC/Big Ten Women’s Basketball Challenge were announced Wednesday afternoon. The annual challenge, which will run Dec. 3-4, is in its eighth edition and will feature 14 games for the first time. Gophers hire VCU's Marlene Stollings as head coach

(AP) Minnesota has hired Marlene Stollings from VCU as the replacement for women’s basketball coach Pam Borton. The university announced the decision on Monday and scheduled an introductory news conference for Tuesday. [ MORE: GopherSports.com: Stollings new women’s basketball coach ] Stollings has four seasons as a head coach on her resume, the last two at VCU. After the Rams went 11-19 her first year, they improved to 22-10 with a spot in the WNIT. Stollings guided a turnaround at Winthrop in 2011-12, too, when the Eagles posted their second winning season in the past 26 years of the program.

Pam Borton relieved of coaching duties at Minnesota

University of Minnesota Director of Athletics Norwood Teague announced today that women’s head basketball coach Pam Borton has been relieved of her coaching duties, effective immediately. “Pam has had many successful seasons at the University of Minnesota, but we feel it is time to look at another leader to position this program for long-term success,” Teague said. “We are grateful to Pam and her staff for their hard work and dedication to this University, our students and the entire Minnesota community. Who made 2014 All-Big Ten Women's Basketball Teams?

The Big Ten Conference announced the All-Big Ten Women’s Basketball Teams and individual award winners on Monday.
