Volleyball Report: B1G is best of the best

Coaches, players and fans can all agree that the Big Ten represents the best caliber of volleyball in all the nation. The conference proved that on Sunday, as an unprecedented seven teams reached regional play, setting a new NCAA record. Big Ten teams make up nearly half of the field remaining in the tournament, as the Sweet 16 features all but one league team that made the postseason. After an unpredictable year that saw possibly the strongest collection of teams in conference history, the postseason has finally arrived. Volleyball Report: Nebraska right on PSU's heels

Penn State may have taken charge of the Big Ten race in recent weeks, but Nebraska made it known this past weekend that the conference crown would not be decided without a fight. Nebraska had the daunting task of facing the Big Ten’s most difficult road trip while holding a tentative grasp on second place last week. In previous years the road trip to Columbus and University Park has been the conference’s most brutal weekend, but with Ohio State struggling this season, the back-to-back matches against Wisconsin and Minnesota have proven to be the league’s most challenging. Friday night, the

Volleyball Report: Penn State taking charge

Unpredictable has been the word most commonly uttered to describe this year’s Big Ten women’s volleyball season. Until the past few weeks, there was a genuine sentiment that any team had a chance to pull off a win, regardless of the matchup. However, as so often has been the case in this conference over the past decade, Penn State has asserted itself and begun to separate from the rest of the pack. At 11-1, the Nittany Lions are one match ahead of Nebraska in the Big Ten standings, yet the gap between Penn State and the rest of the conference
