Andre Hollins had a career-high 25 points and Austin Hollins finished with 12, leading 10th-seeded Minnesota to a 75-68 overtime win over Northwestern in the first round of the Big Ten tournament Thursday. The loss may end the Wildcats’ slim hopes of getting an NCAA bid for the first time in school history. BTN covers the Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament in Indianapolis live on TV and online. On Thursday, Matt Gatens sparked Iowa (17-15) past Illinois with 20 points and three rebounds. Then Indiana took full advantage of the stellar combination of Cody Zeller and Jordan Hulls and beat Penn State, 75-58. Andre Hollins and Austin Hollins both helped Minnesota top Northwestern 75-68 in overtime while Purdue dropped Nebraska 79-61.

BTN announced the 2011-12 All-Big Ten Men’s Basketball Teams live on Monday night. Michigan State star Draymond Green was the only unanimous first-team player and also won Player of the Year from the coaches and the media, while Green’s coach, Tom Izzo, claimed both Coach of the Year honors. As for the highly debated Freshman of the Year laurel, Trey Burke (media) and Cody Zeller (coaches) were both selected. Let the debate continue!

Now that the Big Ten regular season has come to a close, it’s time to release my latest Big Ten men’s hoops power rankings. The rankings are not meant to mimic the Big Ten standings.
