Spring football is in full bloom in the Big Ten, from Lincoln to State College. Many issues must be decided between the conclusion of spring drills and the start of the season. But, most won’t be resolved until fall camp. Until then, here are the 18—yes, 18–biggest Big Ten spring questions.

Spring football has kicked off in Big Ten territory, with Northwestern the first to take off the wraps this past Wednesday. Yesterday, we posted spring previews for the Leaders Division teams. Today, we take a look at the Legends Division, which is filled with many interesting story lines: How will Nebraska’s defensive front seven take shape? Will Michigan’s offense transition smoothly from the Denard Robinson era to a more conventional attack? How will the overhauled staff work at Iowa?

And you could make a case for Minnesota’s duo of Tubby Smith/Jerry Kill being ahead of Indiana’s Kevin Wilson/Tom Crean. Kill has had great success in a long tenure as a head coach at places like Northern Illinois and Southern Illinois. Smith won a national championship at Kentucky.

BTN will air a 30-minute special Black History Month presentation called “Football Pioneers” at 9:30 p.m. ET Friday Hosted by Howard Griffith, the show features interviews with former Northwestern head coach Dennis Green,who was just the second African-American head coach in Division I history. We also talk with Sidney Williams, a former Wisconsin quarterback who was Big Ten’s first African-American starting quarterback, and current Purdue head coach Darrell Hazell.
