Big Ten lands 3 teams in NCAA baseball tourney

Ohio State, Minnesota and Nebraska landed spots in the 64-team NCAA Baseball Tournament on Monday. All three play their opening regional games on Friday. Each of the 16 regionals features four teams, playing a double-elimination format. The regionals are scheduled to be conducted from Friday, June 3, to Monday, June 6 (if necessary). Selection of the eight super regional hosts will be announced Monday, June 6 at approximately 11 p.m. ET. The 70th Men’s College World Series begins play Saturday, June 18, at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska. BTN announcers Kevin Kugler and Danan Hughes debated the best catch of the 2016 Big Ten Baseball Tournament midway through the Ohio State-Michigan State semifinal Sunday morning. The two catches discussed were Minnesota CF Dan Motl and Michigan State RF Dan Chmielewski’s all-out diving grabs. Gophers' Anderson gives eloquent statement on late assistant coach

After his team was eliminated from the Big Ten Baseball Tournament, Minnesota Gophers baseball coach John Anderson spoke with the media about the passing of Gophers pitching baseball coach Todd Oakes, who died Thursday after battle with leukemia. There are good plays. There are great plays. And then there is the kind of play Minnesota centerfielder Dan Motl made in Wednesday’s Big Ten Baseball Tournament opener against Iowa. But Motl ran back, reached out and made an incredible diving catch.
