Penn State was simply dominant en route to winning its second consecutive Big Ten Wrestling Championship on Sunday, crowning three repeat champions in a memorable title match run at Mackey Arena. The Nittany Lions were nearly perfect throughout Sunday’s session and ran away from both Minnesota and Iowa in the team title race. Penn State also has qualified nine wrestlers for NCAAs, with a 10th alive for an at-large bid.

The Big Ten Network will offer its most extensive Big Ten Wrestling Championships coverage ever, with all four sessions March 3 and 4 at Purdue on live television or online live. As part of the Big Ten Digital Network’s subscription package, BTN will provide live, whip-around Student U streaming coverage of the Big Ten wrestling preliminaries, beginning at 10 a.m. ET Saturday. Streaming coverage of select matches in sessions two and three will continue at 5 p.m. ET Saturday and at 1 p.m.m ET Sunday, respectively.

The Big Ten Conference announced the preliminary seeds for the 2012 Big Ten Wrestling Championships, which are set for March 3-4 at Purdue. Six schools boast at least one top seeded wrestler, with Minnesota and Penn State leading the way with three each. Illinois, Ohio State and Penn State will bring a seeded wrestler in each of the 10 weight classes, while Iowa and Minnesota each have seeded wrestlers in nine classes.

Minnesota and Penn State clinched shares of the Big Ten wrestling regular season dual-meet title and each finished with a 7-1 record. Penn State’s seven wins are the most in school history.
