Big Ten basketball fans, get ready to watch Thursday’s Big Ten Basketball Media Day live online via the Big Ten Digital Network for free. We’ll be streaming live the press conferences for both the men’s and women’s coaches. Both events start at 9 a.m. ET and run up to about noon. BTN will televise 40 women’s basketball conference matchups for the 2012-13 season, along with 10 Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament games, and an additional number of non-conference games. The games also will be available on BTN2Go.
Forty years ago a Saturday Title IX was signed into law stating that “no person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity.” Here at BTN we have a few interesting numbers when it comes to women’s sporting events.
The Big Ten and ACC announced Tuesday the matchups for the 2012 ACC/Big Ten Women’s Basketball Challenge, set for Nov. 28-29, 2012. This year’s challenge marks the sixth year of the event, which has been extended through 2016.

Fifth-year coach Kevin Borseth resigned as Michigan women’s basketball coach after posting a 77-73 overall record and a 38-48 Big Ten mark with the Wolverines. Michigan made a 2012 NCAA Tournament appearance. “I have decided to resign my position and return to Wisconsin-Green Bay as head coach,” Borseth said. Read more at MGoBlue.com.
