It’s become common for Big Ten fans to shower Nik Stauskas with “U-S-A!” chants. The Canada native takes it all in stride, and in Tuesday night’s 84-53 Big Ten-clinching win at Illinois, he silenced said chants with a deep buzzer-beating 3-pointer in the first half. It amazed everyone, including the fans and the broadcast crew. Watch the whole sequence in this post.

Michigan claimed its first outright Big Ten title since 1986 in Tuesday night’s 84-53 victory at Illinois. The Wolverines, who won a share of the 2012 crown, have now been on top of the Big Ten in two of the last three seasons. For fun, I decided to highlight some of the top moments along the way to the outright crown. There are many top moments, but these are the ones that stick out the most. What do you think?

Gerry DiNardo sat down with the freshly minted Michigan play-caller to get that answer and so much more. He even quizzed Nussmeier on who the Wolverines play in the final week every season. The 2014 Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament is set to kick off on Thursday on BTN/BTN2Go. Penn State and Michigan State shared the Big Ten regular season crown, and therefore have grabbed the top two seeds in the tournament. Both those teams are loaded with superstar players, but who are some of the under-the-radar players who could play huge roles in leading their team to a Big Ten title?
We decided to have a little fun providing a preview to this year’s B1G Wrestling Championships on March 8-9 at Wisconsin. BTN wrestling analyst Jim Gibbons, an NCAA champion both as a wrestler and coach at Iowa State, will break down one weight class a day, and pick a winner, each day through March 7. Today, it’s the 149-pound weight class.

The last week of Big Ten action is at our doorstep. Michigan is looking to wrap up the outright Big Ten title, Wisconsin is looking to extend a seven-game winning streak and make a push for a share of the crown, while Nebraska, Minnesota, Indiana and Illinois are looking to make pushes for the NCAA tourney.
