Unit Rankings: 2012 Big Ten secondaries

Big Ten defensive backfields are loaded with talent, including cornerbacks like Michigan State’s Johnny Adams, Iowa’s Micah Hyde and Purdue’s Ricardo Allen, along with safeties like Ohio State’s C.J. Barnett, Michigan State’s Isaiah Lewis and Michigan’s Jordan Kovacs. And some of the units figure to rank among the best in the nation, including those at Ohio State, Michigan State and Nebraska. BTN School Days: Michigan Wolverines

So much for the Michigan football program’s struggles. After suffering through the worst three-year period in program history (15-22), the Wolverines came out of nowhere to card an 11-2 record, including their first BCS win since 2000, in Year 1 of the Brady Hoke regime. Naysayers will argue the schedule played out perfectly for Michigan in 2011, but 11-2 is 11-2 no matter how you slice it. And the Wolverines did beat ranked foes, drilling Nebraska and nipping Virginia Tech, both of which were ranked No. 17, in addition to finally topping Ohio State. Catch Michigan Day on BTN all

Also, don’t forget about all of my 2012 unit rankings. 1. Ohio State – This is where it all begins for what should be a strong Buckeye defense. There’s

Like many of us, Big Ten products are all over Twitter. They let us into their lives and put their personalities on display in 140 characters or less, and they often delight and enlighten in the process. See some of our favorite Big Ten-centric tweets from Monday in this post. Jim Delany says he reads blogs. This is quite the revelation. — Bryan Fischer (@BryanDFischer) June 4, 2012 Who knew?! Not so surprised he reads them, actually, but that he admitted it. Going golfing for the first time this should be interesting lol — Trevor Mbakwe (@TMbakwe32) June 4, 2012
