It’s time to release my latest Big Ten men’s hoops power rankings. The rankings are not meant to mimic the Big Ten standings. What fun would that be? They aren’t scientific, either. A couple weeks ago, there was a love song dedicated to Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson. On Monday, David Wright, one of the biggest stars in the MLB, donned a Robinson jersey during New York Mets’ practice. See a couple photos of Wright in the Robinson jersey in this post.

The last week of the regular season is here. Where’s the drama? Michigan State already has sewn up at least a share of Tom Izzo’s seventh Big Ten title thanks to the Spartans pushing their winning streak to seven and Ohio State and Michigan both losing—at home, no less—over the weekend (standings). Michigan State can claim the outright title with a win at Indiana on Tuesday, potentially taking any remaining pizzazz out of that season-ending visit to East Lansing by Ohio State.

The Big Ten men’s basketball coaches held their weekly Big Ten teleconference Monday with reporters from around the league, and we’ve posted the audio from each phone interview in the post below. The Big Ten Conference announced the preliminary seeds for the 2012 Big Ten Wrestling Championships, which are set for March 3-4 at Purdue. Six schools boast at least one top seeded wrestler, with Minnesota and Penn State leading the way with three each. Illinois, Ohio State and Penn State will bring a seeded wrestler in each of the 10 weight classes, while Iowa and Minnesota each have seeded wrestlers in nine classes.
