The Michigan-Michigan State rivalry has developed into one of the most heated in-state rivalries in college football today. While Michigan owned this rivalry early on, it is the Spartans who have been dominant on the gridiron as of late, winning six of the last seven meetings between these schools. Well, it looks like this rivalry just added another chapter. Michigan State’s Spartan bronze statue, which sits square in the middle of campus, was given a Michigan makeover late Wednesday night. Big Ten softball: Michigan's Megan Betsa throws no-hitter vs. MSU

Michigan shut out in-state rival Michigan State 10-0 in a Big Ten softball game on Wednesday at Ole College Field. However, this wasn’t any ordinary college softball game. Michigan sophomore pitcher Megan Betsa struck out six MSU batters on her way to pitching a no-hitter against the Spartans. Betsa (18-4) allowed one walk on her way to completing her second collegiate no-hitter. The Wolverines return home for their next five games, kicking off the homestand with a three-game weekend set against Indiana, which will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday.

For nearly 70 years now, the Fulbright Program has given scholarships, international exposure and professional opportunities to some of the brightest minds among university students and faculty the world over. Historically, the Big Ten Conference has been well represented among Fulbright Scholars and Students, and this year is no exception. Five Big Ten universities had six faculty members apiece among U.S. Fulbright Scholars in 2014-5, according to The Chronicle of Higher Education, which placed them in a tie for fifth-place among all U.S. research institutions.
