The topic of breakout players can be an ambiguous one. For example, some people view Nebraska’s Ameer Abdullah as a 2013 breakout player. Others, meanwhile, feel that with 1,315 total yards and 10 scores a season ago, he’s well past “breakout” territory. I tend to side with the latter. Either way, I went to Twitter and asked Big Ten fans for their 2013 breakout candidates.

The chances are looking slim for the Buckeyes as Sports Illustrated released its preseason top 25 poll, and Urban Meyer’s team came in at No. 4, behind Alabama, Stanford and Texas A&M.
