Linebackers are the heart and soul of any good defense. Speed, strength, athletic ability, toughness … they must embody all of it. And no Big Ten team has a better collection of linebackers than Nebraska. Here’s my ranking of the Big Ten’s linebacking corps. Which college football team has the most loyal fan base? According to a recent businessinsider.com ranking, it’s Nebraska, the team with a sellout streak that dates to the Kennedy administration. Seven Big Ten names up for ESPY Award on July 16

Who was the best male college athlete from the 2014 sports year? How about the best male U.S. Olympian? Those are just two of the six categories in which a current or former Big Ten athlete is nominated for at this year’s ESPY Awards on July 16 at the Nokia Theatre L.A. BTN, Big Ten celebrate at NYC party

BTN threw an exclusive party at Cipriani in New York Thursday for 1,000 alumni and friends of the Big Ten that featured some of the conference’s best-known celebrities along with mascots and cheerleaders. We were there to celebrate the Big Ten’s expansion to the East Coast as well as increased distribution for BTN. On Wednesday, BTN President Mark Silverman told reporters that Comcast will carry BTN on a broader level of service in New Jersey and Maryland, joining Time Warner and Cablevision in expanding the network’s availability.
