The Michigan women’s cross country program won its 10th Big Ten Championship on Sunday with 63 points, placing four runners among the individual top 20 at Les Bolstad Golf Course. The Wolverines claimed their first Big Ten team title since 2012.

The NCAA announced its qualifiers for the 2015 NCAA Cross Country Championships to be held on Saturday, Nov 21, with four women’s programs and three men’s squads representing the Big Ten Conference in a race for national titles. Five individual participants from conference schools will also take to the Tom Sawyer State Park course in Louisville, Ky. The women’s squad at Michigan captured its 10th regional crown with six Wolverines garnering All-Region honors at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional. The Big Ten announced on Wednesday the 28 honorees named Outstanding Sportsmanship Award winners for the 2014-15 academic year. These standouts were chosen from a group of more than 350 students honored throughout the academic year who had displayed positive sportsmanship. One member of each varsity sports team on every campus was chosen by his or her institution as a Sportsmanship Award honoree, and two Outstanding Sportsmanship Award winners were then selected from each institution. Wisconsin won its 14th consecutive and 46th overall Big Ten Men’s Cross Country Championship on Sunday, placing four runners in the top 10 en route to the title. The Badgers were led by Maverick Darling, and Mohammed Ahmed, who placed second and third, respectively. Indiana’s Zach Mayhew took home the individual crown, running the 8,000 meter course in 23:29. Michigan placed second in the team standings with 65 points, while Indiana finished third with 79 points. Indiana’s Andy Bayer and Michigan’s Dan Lowry rounded out the individual top five.
