The 2014 NBA Draft is quickly approaching as teams across the league are setting their draft boards in preparation for June 26th. The Big Ten is expected to be well-represented this year, as Gary Harris, Nik Stauskas, Adreian Payne, Mitch McGary and Glenn Robinson III have all appeared in the first round of various NBA mock drafts.

The Big Ten on Tuesday announced the 2014 baseball All-Big Ten Teams and individual award winners, as voted by the conference’s coaches. Indiana’s Sam Travis was the unanimous choice for Player of the Year, teammate Joey DeNato garnered Pitcher of the Year accolades and Tracy Smith was tabbed Coach of the Year, while Ohio State’s Tanner Tully took home Freshman of the Year honors.

Everything came up roses, literally and figuratively, for Michigan State last season. The Spartans won their first Big Ten title since taking a share of the 2010 crown. And Michigan State went to its first Rose Bowl since the 1987 season, beating Stanford to finish 13-1 overall en route to ranking No. 3 in the polls.

The Big Ten is known for having a rich history and tradition of outstanding basketball. In fact, the Big Ten has won a total of 10 national championships, with the first one dating back to 1940 (Indiana) and the latest in 2000 (Michigan State).

The Big Ten released the 2014 Big Ten Baseball Tournament bracket on Saturday evening, with Indiana securing the top seed after winning its second straight conference title. The Hoosiers claimed the No. 1 seed in the Big Ten Tournament after going 21-3 in conference play.
