Michigan State and Ohio State’s much-anticipated Nike Pro Combat Uniforms were released Tuesday morning. You can see and read about Michigan State’s here and Ohio State’s here. And check out all the teams’ Pro Combat uniforms here. Thanks to Phil Knight, a huge Oregon donor, and Nike, these futuristic and often silly uniforms remain a part of today’s game. Some people love them, some people hate them. It really depends on whether you’re old-school or new-school.
Andre Rison. Plaxico Burress. Derrick Mason. Charles Rogers. None of these decorated former Michigan State wide receivers can challenge B.J. Cunningham when it comes to the Spartans’ record book. That’s right, Cunningham became the program’s all-time leading receiver in Saturday’s 44-0 victory over Florida Atlantic. How does Cunningham feel about being mentioned in the same breath as Michigan State’s greatest receivers? “It means a lot, just to be on the list with these guys,” he told “The Big Ten Pulse” on Monday night. Watch the entire interview now. Our “Big Ten Football Breakdown” crew caught up with Illinois’ Trulon Henry on Monday night. Henry had the 27-yard pick-6 that helped spark Illinois to its 56-3 rout of South Dakota State. In two games this season, Henry has two interceptions. The latest one was more memorable, though, because Henry turned it into six points. “I always wanted score a touchdown,” he said. Coming up Tuesday on BTN, watch “The Next Level” at 7 p.m. ET. Every week during the college football season, Brent Yarina posts his latest Big Ten Power Rankings. It was a rough Week 2 for the Big Ten, as the conference struggled to a 7-5 record. As for the power rankings, they are not meant to mimic the Big Ten standings. What fun would that be? They aren’t scientific, either. They’re simply Brent’s thoughts on where each Big Ten team stands after its latest game and entering its next contest. Agree? Disagree? Tweet @BTNBrentYarina.
Every week during the fall, BTN.com web editor and blogger Brent Yarina recaps the week that was in Big Ten football. (AP) Kirk Cousins threw for 183 yards and two touchdowns, and No. 17 Michigan State held Florida Atlantic to one first down in a 44-0 victory over the Owls on Saturday. B.J. Cunningham caught five passes for 73 yards, breaking a tie with Matt Trannon for Michigan State’s career lead in receptions. The Spartans (2-0) led 27-0 at halftime and ended up outgaining FAU 434-48. The Owls (0-2) have scheduled a brutal opening month. They opened at Florida and play at Auburn in two weeks. Cousins finished 16 of 21, and backup Andrew Maxwell also played quite a bit. Read the full AP recap, see the box score and view the Big Ten scoreboard.

The Big Ten opened the 2011 season with a 10-2 clip in Week 1. It was a solid opening act, considering the two losses — both away from home — came by a combined nine points. This week, the competition gets tougher with five BCS opponents on the slate, including No. 2 Alabama and Notre Dame. Unlike last week, all 12 games are on Saturday this time around. Six of the games will air live on BTN. Use our GameFinder to find your BTN game. Listen to BTN.com’s Week 2 Preview Podcast and read my Week 2 Preview inside.
