So many of us have seen basketball players go to their knees and kiss the center court logo as they exit for the final time on Senior Day. But what about hockey players kissing the logo at center ice? It’s a Michigan State tradition, and thanks to @MSU_Hockey, there’s an outstanding photo of this year’s senior class continuing the tradition Saturday night.

A lot of hockey action took place Friday night. As seen on BTN,  Michigan edged Michigan State 3-2 at Yost Ice Arena. In Columbus, the Buckeyes upset ninth-ranked Notre Dame 6-3. In women’s hockey action, Minnesota won their seventh WCHA regular season title against Minnesota Duluth with a 5-0 win. Ryan Dzingel had Ohio State’s lone goal late in the third period as Brady Hjelle and the Buckeyes got the shutout win against Michigan State at Munn Ice Arena on Friday night. Watch the highlights now and jump inside for a postgame interview with Dzingel.

On our most recent episode of “The Big Ten Women’s Sports Report,” BTN’s Lisa Byington (@LisaByington) took to the ice at Michigan State as part of a program to introduce women to college hockey and hockey in general. Modeled after a similar program at Michigan State for football, any female hockey fan could sign up. For Byington’s hockey session, she was joined by a few familiar Michigan State faces. The Michigan State men’s hockey team will have four new jersey designs for the 2012-13 season, the school announced Thursday. Featured in the new collection, the Spartans will introduce new standard home and away jerseys, as well as a pair of vintage sweaters.
