Minnesota picked to win Big Ten men's hockey crown

Four-time Big Ten champion Minnesota was tabbed the favorite in the 2017-18 Big Ten hockey preseason coaches’ poll, the conference announced on Monday. The coaches also selected a 17-member Preseason Watch List, including a pair of unanimous honorees.

The Big Ten announced on Saturday the bracket for the 2017 Big Ten Men's Ice Hockey Tournament, with Big Ten Champion Minnesota collecting the top seed after earning its fourth consecutive Big Ten title.

BTN will televise eight winter Big Ten Championships in 2017, including the entire Big Ten Hockey Tournament, wrestling, men’s swimming & diving, women’s swimming & diving, men’s and women’s indoor track & field and men’s and women’s gymnastics. Television coverage begins with the Big Ten Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships from Purdue on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 10:30 a.m. ET and continues with Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships at 10:30 a.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 26, from Ohio State. Minnesota highlights preseason hockey poll & watch list

Three-time Big Ten Champion Minnesota was tabbed the favorite in the 2016-17 Big Ten hockey preseason coaches’ poll, the conference announced on Monday. Minnesota completed the 2015-16 campaign with a conference record of 14-6-0-0 (20-17-0 overall) and reached the championship game of the 2016 Big Ten Tournament. Ohio State was selected second in the preseason poll, with defending Big Ten Tournament Champion Michigan capturing third, Penn State taking fourth, Wisconsin placing fifth and Michigan State rounding out the poll in sixth. The 2016 ESPY Awards took place Wednesday night in Los Angeles. The annual awards ceremony was filled with memorable moments, including a touching speech from TNT analyst Craig Sager, who was honored with this year’s Jimmy V award.
