How to watch the Midlands Championships live on TV & online

Both days of the 53rd Ken Kraft Midlands Championships at Northwestern will be available live and for free beginning Tuesday morning and running through Wednesday night. In this post, learn how to watch two days of non-stop wrestling competition live featuring many of the nation’s top-ranked wrestling teams and individuals on BTN and BTN2Go. Tuesday’s first session starts at 10:30 a.m. ET, and the second sessions begin at 8 p.m. Here’s one link to the page for all eight mat cameras on Tuesday. We have also added individual links to each mat during both sessions at the body of this page.

No. 3 Iowa tops No. 2 Oklahoma State in Grapple on the Gridiron

Under sunny skies more than 42,000 fans watched No. 3 Iowa top No. 2 Oklahoma State 18-16 in Saturday’s outdoor wrestling match at Iowa’s Kinnick Stadium. The match was streamed live on BTN2Go (watch it here again) and the entire event will be replayed Sunday at 7 p.m. ET on BTN. Our broadcast includes in-match interviews with former Iowa coach Dan Gable as well as wrestling fan and BTN football analyst Matt Millen. The official attendance was announced as 42,287. BTN's Shane Sparks previews 'Grapple on the Gridiron'

In his first BTN Wrestling report this season, BTN wrestling analyst Shane Sparks looks ahead to Saturday's major event at Iowa. Iowa's dual with Oklahoma State will be available live on BTN2Go Saturday at noon ET, and it will then re-air Sunday on TV at 7 p.m. ET.

Big Ten boasts four of top five teams in preseason NWCA poll

The Big Ten is an absolute power in the college wrestling world. One look at the preseason USA TODAY/NWCA Poll is all the proof one needs. The Big Ten features a total of nine ranked teams, including four in the top 5 (No. 2 Penn State; No. 3 Michigan; No. 4 Iowa; No. 5 Ohio State). Nebraska rounds out the top 10, giving the conference five top 10 teams, while Illinois (No. 11), Wisconsin (No. 15), Minnesota (No. 17) and Rutgers (No. 18) also land on the poll. BTN Announces 2015-16 Wrestling Coverage

With the Big Ten seeking its 10th consecutive wrestling national championship, BTN’s 2015-16 wrestling coverage, presented by returning sponsor Cliff Keen Athletic, will take fans along for the ride with some of the most noteworthy matchups of the season. The schedule includes the Midlands Championships hosted by Northwestern; a key matchup between Ohio State and Penn State, winners of the past five national championships; the NWCA National Duals; and coverage of the Big Ten Wrestling Championships in Iowa City. Big Ten announces Outstanding Sportsmanship Award winners

The Big Ten announced on Wednesday the 28 honorees named Outstanding Sportsmanship Award winners for the 2014-15 academic year. These standouts were chosen from a group of more than 350 students honored throughout the academic year who had displayed positive sportsmanship. One member of each varsity sports team on every campus was chosen by his or her institution as a Sportsmanship Award honoree, and two Outstanding Sportsmanship Award winners were then selected from each institution. Ohio State in first place entering final day of NCAA Wrestling Championships

Ohio State sits in first place heading into the final day of the 2015 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships. The Buckeyes currently have 86.5 points after Friday’s action, 13.5 points ahead of second-place Iowa. Penn State is in sixth place with 68 points, while Michigan (51), Minnesota (49) and Nebraska (49) round out the Big Ten teams in the top 10. The Buckeyes got a huge boost on Friday evening with victories from Nathan Tomasello (125), Logan Stieber (141) and Kyle Snyder (197).
