CHICAGO – BTN will air an exciting lineup of women’s basketball matchups for the 2013-14 season, including 43 conference, six non-conference and 10 Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament games. With six Big Ten teams selected to the 2013 NCAA Championship, the Big Ten expects to enter this season with several ranked teams.
Four Big Ten women’s basketball teams hit the floor tonight in the 2013 NCAA Women’s Baseketball Tournament as Iowa, Michigan, Penn State and Purdue look to advance. Nebraska is still in contention after beating Texas A&M on Monday night.
Jordan Hooper scored 24 points to lead No. 21 Nebraska to a 76-61 victory over Iowa in the Big Ten tournament quarterfinals on Friday. Lindsey Moore had 13 points and six assists, and Emily Cady had eight rebounds and six assists for the Huskers (23-7), the second seed in the tournament. Look back at the GameTracker.
Morgan Johnson and Jamie Printy scored 18 points apiece and Iowa defeated Northwestern 60-55 on Thursday in the first round of the Big Ten women’s tournament. Bethany Doolittle added 10 points and Samantha Logic grabbed 11 rebounds for the Hawkeyes (20-11), the seventh seed in the tournament. They advance to meet No. 21 Nebraska, the Big Ten’s second seed, in Friday’s quarterfinals.
All 12 Big Ten women’s basketball teams head to Hoffman Estates, Ill., and the Sears Centre Arena for the annual Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament with champion scoring the conference’s automatic berth into the NCAA Championship.
