There were three Big Ten women’s basketball games on Thursday night. Penn State kicked off the action with an impressive 66-42 win over Ohio State. Michigan State followed with a 88-72 thumping of Iowa, and Nebraska edged out Minnesota, 88-85 in overtime

The BCS era is over, and to me that is a very good thing. The era ran 16 seasons stretching from 1998-2013. As a way to celebrate the end of the BCS and with an eye on the first college football playoff after next season, I present to you my 10 best Big Ten teams of the BCS era.

With Ohio State losing a pair of games this past week, there was quite the shakeup near the top of my Big Ten Power Rankings, presented by ArcelorMittal. There also was movement at the bottom, as Northwestern is no longer in the cellar.
In case any doubters remained—Iowa is for real, as proven by its 10-point win in Columbus. Granted, this was probably more like a six- or eight-point win if Ohio State isn’t fouling desperately at the end. But that’s splitting hairs, especially because most teams in that position do the same thing.
