With Ohio State losing a pair of games this past week, there was quite the shakeup near the top of my Big Ten Power Rankings, presented by ArcelorMittal. There also was movement at the bottom, as Northwestern is no longer in the cellar.
In case any doubters remained—Iowa is for real, as proven by its 10-point win in Columbus. Granted, this was probably more like a six- or eight-point win if Ohio State isn’t fouling desperately at the end. But that’s splitting hairs, especially because most teams in that position do the same thing.
The Big Ten office announced its latest Big Ten Players of the Week, and Iowa’s Devyn Marble (Player of the Week) and Indiana’s Noah Vonleh (Freshman of the Week) are the latest recipients. See what each players did this past week to earn the honor in this post.
We are in the second week of January, which means that the college basketball season is officially at the midway point. Through two months, Wisconsin is the only Big Ten team without a loss this season, sitting at a perfect 16-0. The Badgers are joined by Michigan State and Michigan as the only three teams without a conference loss.

There was doubleheader of Big Ten men’s hoops today on BTN/BTN2Go. Indiana rallied past Penn State, 79-76 in the first game of the day, while Michigan State won a 87-75 overtime thriller over Minnesota in the second game. Catch up on all the scores, stats and highlights in this post.
