With a goal from freshman Femi Hollinger-Janzen in the 27th minute, Indiana will make its 14th NCAA title game appearance, and first since 2004, this after tallying a 1-0 win over Creighton (17-4-3) in the NCAA College Cup semifinal match at Regions Park in Hoover, Ala.
A goal from Eriq Zavaleta in the 60th minute ended an eight year College Cup drought for the Hoosiers, giving them a 1-0 win at No. 9 seed North Carolina in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Tournament Friday night in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Indiana women’s soccer head coach Mick Lyon announced he is retiring as the head coach of the women’s soccer program. In his 11 seasons at Indiana, Lyon went 95-98-21 and is 202-163-39 for his career. Read more at IUHoosiers.com. In men’s soccer action, Northwestern’s Tyler Miller made two amazing saves at the end of double overtime to save the game as the Wildcats and Indiana Hoosiers settle for a 1-1 tie on Thursday night.
Here we are in the final week of the Big Ten regular season and just as everybody expected the defending champion Northwestern Wildcats and seven-time national champion Indiana Hoosiers are battling for the championship – the two teams play tonight at 8 p.m. ET on 8 p.m. ET on BTN/BTN2GO.
