No. 1 Indiana flattens Purdue for season sweep

Will Sheehey scored a career-high 22 points, on a perfect 9-of-9 effort from the field, and Cody Zeller had 19 as No. 1 Indiana rolled over Purdue 83-55 on Saturday, routing the Boilermakers for the second time in 2 1/2 weeks. Indiana (23-3, 11-2 Big Ten) bucked the recent trend of No. 1 teams losing and will likely keep the top spot for a third straight week. It also will retain at least a share of the league lead. The Hoosiers have won eight of their last nine games. [ BOX | AP RECAP | SCORES | ALL PHOTOS |

All signs point to No. 1 Indiana vs. No. 8 Michigan State

There were many winners this week in the Big Ten. But none were bigger than Indiana and Michigan State, which notched impressive victories that solidified their place atop the standings. And, it sets up what should be a huge game on Tuesday, when the Hoosiers visit the Spartans in this week’s version of the “Game of the Year.” Let’s take a look back and forward in the Big Ten. Big Ten Geeks: Boiling Over

Illinois exorcised some demons in a 20 point blowout of Purdue. The Fighting Illini seniors had never beaten the Boilermakers, but they changed that in emphatic fashion by attacking the offensive glass and limiting turnovers. In all, Illinois attempted 13 more field goals than Purdue, and those extra looks enabled John Groce’s team to score 1.20 points per trip despite 29 percent shooting on jumpers. It was Illinois’ best output since the win at Gonzaga, and it appears that the Illini of the season’s first month have returned. Illinois also did a good job defensively, especially when it came to

No. 1 Indiana starts slow, blows away Nebraska

Cody Zeller scored 16 points and Christian Watford finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds to help No. 1 Indiana pull away from Nebraska 76-47 on Wednesday night. The Hoosiers (22-3, 10-2 Big Ten) have won seven of eight and regained a share of the league lead. They are tied with Michigan State. Indiana 'highly unlikely' to wear alternate uniforms

Indiana fans will love what AD Fred Glass told reporters Wednesday. According to Inside the Hall’s Justin Albers, Glass said it’s “highly unlikely” Indiana will ever wear any adidas alternate uniform. Adidas, of course, has put Michigan, Nebraska and Wisconsin in its new “bleed out” uniform, the design the company introduced during the NBA marathon on Christmas Day. Adidas, the official outfitter of the NBA, has teamed with the Golden State Warriors on a new uniform that includes a short-sleeve jersey. Yes, you read that correctly. It may look more like a volleyball jersey, but adidas calls it the “adizero NBA short sleeve uniform system,” and it believes it is the next phase in the evolution of basketball apparel.
