From the Big Ten dominating the national polls to the countless upsets to the incredible finishes, the 2012-13 season is one we won’t soon forget. There also were more than our share of memorable plays. I rank the top ones (non-dunks) in this post. I’ll have an all-dunk post later this week. In defense of Oladipo as Big Ten Player of the Year

There is no wrong choice for Big Ten Player of the Year this season. Trey Burke. Victor Oladipo. Deshaun Thomas. I’m not going to argue against any of those names. Having said that, Oladipo is my selection – even though Burke took home the honor. Why Oladipo? Easy: He was the best player on the best team and the best all-around player in the league. Also, he helped lead the Hoosiers to their first outright Big Ten crown since 1993. Yes, this is the player of the year, not the most valuable player, but eight of the last 13 winners

Big Ten Geeks: Champs

Indiana won the Big Ten championship outright by about half a Newton, as Jordan Morgan’s tip-in attempt was a hair too strong, allowing Indiana to complete a road comeback and dulling the festivities of the rest of the weekend. After a sluggish first half that ended with Michigan leading 33-30 (33 possessions), the two teams combined for 80 points in the second half (32 possessions). However, despite the fact that these two teams played a back-and-forth battle, I think the result raises more concerns about Michigan than Indiana. Don’t get me wrong—this game was literally decided by the bounce of
