Indiana’s Yogi Ferrell, Maryland’s Melo Trimble, Ohio State’s D’Angelo Russell and Wisconsin’s Frank Kaminsky were named to the 25-man midseason Wooden Award list. Trimble and Russell, both freshman stars, are new entrants since the preseason list was announced; Ferrell and Kaminsky are carryovers from the initial list. Michigan’s Caris LeVert, Michigan State’s Branden Dawson, Maryland’s Dez Wells, Nebraska’s Terran Petteway and Wisconsin’s Sam Dekker all fell of the latest list. Not to worry, though, because all players are eligible to be named finalists, which will be announced in March.

Nebraska’s Tim Miles and Indiana’s Tom Crean had a heated conversation after a hard foul during Indiana’s win at Nebraska on Wednesday night. With just under 10 minutes left, Indiana’s Hanner Mosquera-Perea went up for an alley-oop and was taken to the floor on a hard foul. Before Mosquera-Perea could attempt his free throws, Miles and Crean delayed the action with an exchange that required the officials to call for a quick meeting with the coaches near the scorer’s table.
