Tom Crean and Indiana spent a big portion of last season ranked No. 1 in the nation. As we all know, though, the Hoosiers lost a ton of talent, including Jordan Hulls, Victor Oladipo, Christian Watford and Cody Zeller.
They return Yogi Ferrell and Will Sheehey and also welcome a decorated incoming class, so the question needs to be asked: Should Indiana be ranked in the preseason polls?

Evan Gordon will be the second member of his family to be a one-and-done Indiana Hoosier. The younger brother of one-year Indiana standout Eric Gordon, Evan announced Wednesday that he will use his final season of eligibility at Indiana. Gordon, who spent last season at Arizona State after two seasons at Liberty, will be eligible immediately as he pursues a master’s degree.

At its spring meetings in Chicago, the Big Ten may discuss if it should have divisional play in basketball, as Rutgers and Maryland are set to join the league in 2014 to make the conference a 14-team entity. My advice: The Big Ten should take a lead from the other major conferences—ACC (12 teams), SEC (14), Pac-12 (12), old Big East (15), Atlantic 10 (16)–and not have divisional play.
