No. 9 Illinois knocks off No. 8 Indiana in tourney opener

(AP) Tracy Abrams had 25 points to lead ninth-seeded Illinois to a 64-54 win over eight-seed Indiana on Thursday in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament. The Illini (19-13) used runs of 9-0 in the first half and 11-0 in the second half to improve to 6-2 all-time against Indiana in the Big Ten Tournament.

B1G Tourney: Two lower seeds card wins on Day 1

The opening day of the Big Ten tourney did not disappoint. No. 9 Illinois dispatched Indiana, No. 5 Ohio State eliminated No. 12 Purdue, No. 7 Minnesota held off No. 10 Penn State and No. 11 Northwestern upset No. 6 Iowa. On Friday night, BTN/BTN2Go airs No. 2 seed Wisconsin vs. Minnesota at 6:30 p.m. ET, followed by No. 3 seed Michigan State vs. Northwestern.
