Dienhart: My top 10 Big Ten defensive linemen

The Big Ten lost some good defensive linemen after last season. Four defensive tackles and three ends were selected in the NFL draft, highlighted by first-round pick Whitney Mercilus (Illinois). Also drafted were: Michigan State tackle Jerel Worthy (Packers), Penn State tackle Devon Still (Bengals), Michigan tackle Mike Martin (Titans), Nebraska tackle Jared Crick (Texans) and Iowa end Mike Daniels (Packers) and Penn State end Jack Crawford (Raiders).

Saturday’s Big Ten Baseball Roundup

It was a memorable Senior Day for the Michigan State baseball team on Saturday afternoon at McLane Baseball Stadium. The Spartans capped off the regular season with a 9-2 victory over Penn State, giving the class of 2012 its 128th win over the past four years, tying for the most in school history along with the class of 1989 and 1990. Target Field, Omaha Land Future Baseball Tourneys

The Big Ten Conference announced on Friday the sites for its 2013 and 2014 baseball tournaments. The 2013 Big Ten Baseball Tournament will be held at Target Field in Minneapolis, the home of Major League Baseball’s Minnesota Twins, marking the first time that the event will be held at a Major League Baseball facility. The 2014 tournament will be held at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb., the site of the NCAA Division I Men’s College World Series.

Michigan sweeps All-Big Ten softball individual honors

The Big Ten Conference announced the 2012 All-Big Ten Softball Teams on Wednesday afternoon, and five-time reigning champ Michigan dominated the honors. The Wolverines swept all of the individual laurels, with first baseman Amanda Chidester taking home Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.
