No Big Ten school has produced defensive backs like Ohio State over the past 10 years. Since the 2005 draft, the Buckeyes have had 12 defensive backs taken with a league-high three of those coming in the first round–Donte Whitner in 2006; Malcolm Jenkins in 2009; Bradley Roby in 2014. Nebraska is right behind Ohio State with 11 picks, including two first-rounders: Prince Amukamara in 2011 and Fabian Washington in 2005. This much is known: No team, in any sport, had a better month of April than the Illinois baseball team. In all, Dan Hartleb’s team has won a program-record 18 consecutive games, the longest active streak in college baseball and the second-longest this season (24, Texas A&M). Penn State has a reputation for producing linebackers, while Wisconsin has forged a legacy for churning out offensive linemen and running backs. But each school also has been proficient when it comes to having defensive linemen picked in the NFL draft.
