BTN will air more soccer than ever before

CHICAGO – BTN will televise more soccer this season than ever before, with at least 60 matches set to air on BTN, including for the first time each round of the Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Soccer Tournaments. Each BTN broadcast is also available on BTN2Go. The soccer season on BTN begins on Friday, Aug. 24, when defending Big Ten Champion Penn State women host 2011 National Champion Stanford, while the men begin on Sunday, Sept. 23, with seven-time national champion Indiana at Ohio State. In the latest installment of “BTN Soccer Report,” host Kevin Egan and analyst Aron Hyde recap the tournament and highlight Northwestern’s championship run. Big Ten Fall Championships to Air on BTN in November

CHICAGO – BTN will once again provide coverage of five Big Ten fall championships, including live broadcasts during the 2011 Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament, Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Soccer Tournaments and delayed coverage of the Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships. BTN will televise live the semifinals and final of the Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament at Penn State.  Live coverage of the semifinal round will begin at 10 AM ET with the second game to follow at approximately noon ET on Friday, Nov. 4. The weekend saw several of the conference’s soccer, field hockey and volleyball teams in action. The No. 4 Nebraska volleyball team (17-1, 10-0) made history Saturday night, overcoming No. 1 Illinois in a 3-1 (24-26, 25-18, 25-19, 25-11) victory.
