Northwestern followed up their regular-season title with the Big Ten Tounament title. In the latest installment of “BTN Soccer Report,” host Kevin Egan and analyst Aron Hyde recap the tournament and highlight Northwestern’s championship run. Soccer By Ives writer John Boschini also calls in to look ahead to the NCAA Tournament. On the women’s side, Illinois beat 2010 defending NCAA Champion Notre Dame to advance to the second round. CHICAGO – BTN will once again provide coverage of five Big Ten fall championships, including live broadcasts during the 2011 Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament, Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Soccer Tournaments and delayed coverage of the Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships.

The weekend saw several of the conference’s soccer, field hockey and volleyball teams in action. The No. 4 Nebraska volleyball team (17-1, 10-0) made history Saturday night, overcoming No. 1 Illinois in a 3-1 (24-26, 25-18, 25-19, 25-11) victory. With the win, the Huskers advance as the only undefeated team in Big Ten Conference play. Watch Nebraska head coach John Cook talk about the win now. The weekend saw several of the conference’s soccer and field hockey teams in action. Iowa battled Ohio State to a 3-0 win in field hockey on Saturday afternoon.
