Tom's Take: Two tourney upsets make it a wild Day 2

If you like upsets, today was your day. No. 12 Illinois took down No. 5 Iowa, and No. 11 Nebraska topped No. 6 Wisconsin. What does it mean? For the first time since Michigan and Illinois did it in 1999, two double-digit seeds will play in the quarterfinals. Here’s a complete look at the day’s action.

Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament: All-Thursday team

Big Ten fans were treated to four outstanding games on Thursday. No. 11 Nebraska and No. 12 Illinois pulled off big upset victories, while No. 8 Michigan and No. 7 Ohio State held on to advance to the tournament quarterfinals as well. With four great games, there were plenty of phenomenal individual performances. BTN.com’s Tom Dienhart and Sean Merriman were there to take in all the action. Here is a look at their All-Thursday team. DIENHART Michigan’s Zak Irvin. A former Indiana Mr. Basketball, Irvin was back home in the Indianapolis area and played big. He finished with 19 points and eight rebounds.

Great eight: Big Ten men's tourney quarterfinals are set

The second day of the 2016 Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament is over and two teams pulled off upsets. No. 11 seed Nebraska stunned No. 6 seed Wisconsin, 70-58 while No. 12 seed Illinois knocked off  No. 5 seed Iowa 68-66. Also earlier, No. 7 seed Ohio State beat No. 10 seed Penn State 79-75, and No. 8 seed Michigan survived in overtime against No. 9 seed Northwestern, 72-70. INDIANAPOLIS — Day 1 is in the books, and there were no surprises, as higher seeds in No. 11 Illinois and No. 12 Nebraska both prevailed in the opening round of the 19th Big Ten tourney. Dienhart: Illinois routs Minnesota in Big Ten tourney opener

INDIANAPOLIS — The Big Ten tourney tipped off Wednesday afternoon with No. 12 Illinois playing No. 13 Minnesota, two programs whose seasons never got on track.
