Illinois unveiled its new uniforms, as part of the school’s long-awaited Nike rebrand, Wednesday night. The designs, which were leaked Tuesday night, should please Illini fans. For starters, the rebrand brought consistency across all of the school’s sports, to the point that every team will have the same shades of orange and blue, logos and fonts. See the uniforms in this post.
Here’s a question that college basketball fans have probably asked themselves at one point or another: How good would that guy be if he played football? The which-basketball-players-would-be-great-at-football topic always makes for a great conversation point, but rather than pointlessly flirting with the idea, let’s go ahead and actually put it into action.
Illinois will unveil its new uniforms for the Nike rebrand at 8 p.m. ET Wednesday night. Several photos of the designs hit the web Tuesday night, and, according to IllinoisLoyalty.com, the picture above was posted to nikeinc.com. Whether the uniforms were leaked or these are just several of the designs Nike and Illinois drew up, they are fun to consider. See several pictures of the designs in this post.

SportingNews.com decided to rank the Big Ten’s football coaches, and there’s no surprise at the top of the list. Ohio State’s Urban Meyer, he of two national titles at Florida, is No. 1, and Michigan State’s Mark Dantonio, fresh off a Big Ten title and Rose Bowl Game win, is No. 2.
If you watched closely, you could see the improvement in Illinois this spring. Good thing, because Tim Beckman needs to pad his win total as he embarks on this third season in Champaign. He is 6-18 overall and 1-15 in the Big Ten. And that one league win came vs. arguably the worst Purdue team in that school’s history. But, I digress. All eyes in Champaign this spring were on the quarterback derby and defense.
