Illinois quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase has had his share of ups—and downs—while in Champaign. As a result, the senior has developed resiliency. He knows not to get too high, or too low. This last Saturday is a perfect example.
Each Tuesday morning during the Big Ten football season, the 12 Big Ten football coaches hold a Big Ten teleconference with reporters from around the country. We post the audio for each segment of the call here, and we do this every Tuesday afternoon.

The Big Ten office released its Week 1 Players of the Week on Monday, and it was Nathan Scheelhaase (Offense), Collin Ellis (Defense), Sam Ficken (Special Teams) and Christian Hackenberg (Freshman) taking home the season’s first accolades. Before we turn our attention to Week 2, it’s time to revisit how the BTN.com team and Big Ten fans did with their Week 1 Big Ten predictions. BTN’s Sean Merriman and Stephen Bardo both went a perfect 12-0 to pace the field, while Big Ten fans only missed the Iowa-Northern Illinois game. Nice work!
