Baseball players don’t forget when an opponent robs them of a potential base hit. And nothing makes them happier than returning the favor. The opportunity doesn’t always present itself, but it did in the first game of the Big Ten tournament Wednesday. Three innings after Illinois’ Thomas Lindauer made a diving grab to retire Minnesota’s Connor Schaefbauer (video above), the latter got revenge in the eighth inning. BTN/BTN2Go to air entire Big Ten baseball tourney

CHICAGO – For the fifth straight year, BTN will televise live every game of the Big Ten Baseball Tournament. Coverage begins Wednesday and continues until Saturday, with a game on Sunday if necessary.

The entire tournament will take place at Target Field, home of Major League Baseball’s Minnesota Twins. Purdue won the tournament title last year, earning the Big Ten’s automatic bid to the NCAA Baseball Championship.

Big Ten releases All-Big Ten baseball teams

The Big Ten announced Tuesday its 2013 All-Big Ten teams and individual award winners. Big Ten champion Indiana was well represented, as it took home Pitcher of the Year (Aaron Slegers) and Coach of the Year (Tracy Smith). Illinois’ Justin Parr was named Player of the Year and Kevin Duchene earned Freshman of the Year honors. See the teams in this post.

Indiana earns No. 1 seed in Big Ten baseball tourney

Fresh off its first outright Big Ten title since 1932, Indiana will be the No. 1 seed in the Big Ten baseball tournament Wednesday-Saturday (Sunday, if necessary) at Target Field. The Hoosiers, along with Ohio State, earned a first-round bye in the six-team, double-elimination tourney that opens at 1:05 p.m. ET Wednesday. All 10 games will air live on BTN/BTN2Go.
