The 2015 Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament kicked off with two games on Wednesday. No. 12 Indiana started the night with a 68-63 win over No. 13 Penn State. Matt Costello brought everyone to its feet Wednesday night at the Breslin Center. Late in the second half vs. Purdue, the junior grabbed an offensive rebound and proceeded to put a pretty spin move on Purdue big man Isaac Haas on his way to hammering home a reverse dunk. It all happened in front of the Michigan State bench, and Costello’s teammates absolutely loved it. As did BTN announcers Gus Johnson and Stephen Bardo. And, of course, the fans. Big Ten basketball fans were treated to three entertaining men's hoops games on Super Wednesday, highlighted by Michigan State's impressive 72-66 win over Purdue.
Sam Thompson is known for his theatrics off inbound passes, slamming home countless alley-oops following a foul or timeout during his Ohio State career. In Wednesday night’s win at Penn State, the high-flyer scored off another inbound pass, this time as a defender. Really. The Buckeyes were in a full-court press, and Thompson, guarding the inbounder, got his hand on the pass, deflecting it into the air above the basket. Next thing you know, the ball deflects off the backboard and through the net – almost like it was planned. Ever see something like this before, Big Ten fans? So,
Former Michigan State standout Le’Veon Bell, who is set to enter his third NFL season, has already developed into one of the top running backs in the league. The 23-year-old running back rushed for 1,361 yards last season, which ranked second in the NFL, to go along with 83 receptions for 854 yards and three more scores. Bell was named a first-team All-Pro and was selected to his first NFL Pro Bowl this past season. However, NFL Draft Analyst Mel Kiper Jr. did not give Bell great reviews coming out of Michigan State, and Bell went off on the analyst
