Big Ten links: Football schedules, Big Ten hoops coaches extended & more

The Big Ten had spring meetings last week, where a number of topics were discussed. One looked at more balance in future football schedules. Scott Dochterman of the Cedar Rapids Gazette says the athletics directors’ discussion highlighted the Big Ten’s challenges of scheduling with a larger conference and an odd number of games. “Just make sure we’re applying a common set of standards and maintain things like home-and-away balance and east-west balance and marquee matchups and that sort of thing,” Indiana Athletics Director Fred Glass said. “I think the scheduling guys do a great job. My guess is that Harbaugh has since gotten rid of his Spartan gear. Either way, this is a fun photo to look back at that both

Ohio State’s D’Angelo Russell wears No. 0 because that’s how many people he feels can guard him. It has nothing to do with his golf handicap. [ MORE: Urban Meyer is up to more photoboming ] This much is clear after former Big Ten rival Dez Wells posted the Instagram video above of Russell taking a couple swings. Cue the inevitable Charles Barkley jokes. Russell is expected to be a top five pick in the 2015 NBA Draft on June 25. See where experts’ latest mock drafts have Russell going. h/t: For The Win
