Dienhart: Q&A with Minnesota's Matt Limegrover

It’s a building process. Minnesota offensive coordinator Matt Limegrover knows that. He’s been through this before with Golden Gopher head coach Jerry Kill at Northern Illinois, Southern Illinois and Emporia State, where he joined Kill in 1999 and hasn’t left. Limegrover became offensive coordinator in 2001, when Kill and his staff took over at Southern Illinois. I caught up with Limegrover to talk about his offense and how it’s developing as he heads in Year Two with the Golden Gophers.

On Monday, the Big Ten Conference held a teleconference with officials and media. Among those participating for the Big Ten:  Big Ten Commissioner Jim Delany, Nebraska Chancellor Harvey Perlman, Northwestern athletics director Jim Phillips, and BTN President Mark Silverman. A college football playoff was discussed on the call, among other things. BTN School Days: Indiana Hoosiers

Any talk about Indiana’s 2011-12 athletic year begins and ends with the turnaround of the men’s basketball program. On the heels of a forgettable three-year run that yielded a 28-66 record, the Hoosiers returned to relevancy with a 27-9 season, highlighted by a Sweet 16 berth and upset wins over eventual national champ Kentucky and then-No. 2 Ohio State. The difference between the previous three seasons: Freshman sensation Cody Zeller, the Coaches’ choice for Big Ten Freshman of the Year and an All-Big Ten second-team honoree.
