Three Big Ten stars elected to College Football Hall of Fame

Purdue's Rod Woodson, Wisconsin's Tim Krumrie, and Ohio State's Tom Cousineau were among the 14 players and two coaches announced as members of the 2016 College Football Hall of Fame class on Friday. Come see a few video clips of each Big Ten legend.

Tom Dienhart's top 5 players to replace: Iowa Hawkeyes

Iowa has a tough act to follow. What will the Hawkeyes do for an encore to one of the greatest seasons in school history? Iowa went 12-0 in the regular season, won the Big Ten West and played in the Rose Bowl for the first time since the 1990 season. [ MORE: Get all of Tom Dienhart’s players to replace posts ] Kirk Ferentz will have a lot of talent back for his 18th edition. The offense will have players like QB C.J. Beathard, RBs LeShun Daniels and Akrum Wadley, WR Matt VandeBerg, TE George Kittle and three linemen. The

Big Ten Survey: Most impressive men's hoops team so far is ...

The Big Ten hoops season is starting to gain steam. Which team has been most impressive? In my weekly Big Ten survey, I posed the question to some esteemed members of the media who cover the league. Thoughts? Leave them in the comments section below. Kevin Noon, BuckeyeGrove.com (@Kevin_Noon): I think it is Maryland. Michigan State has shown that it relies too heavily upon Denzel Valentine and I think Maryland is more diverse with its weapons and set up for a solid run this year. Steve Greenberg, Chicago Sun-Times/Bleacherreport.com (@SLGreenberg): Michigan State — the Denzel Valentine version — impressed me

Basketball 'Journey 2016' premieres at 8 p.m. ET Sunday

With 2015 football behind us, we turn our attention to the season premiere of “The Journey: Big Ten Basketball 2016,” which debuts at 8 p.m. ET Sunday, right after the Purdue-Illinois men’s basketball game on BTN. This week, our crew looks at Purdue’s Rapheal Davis’ transformation into a premier defensive player while restoring some of Purdue’s “Play Hard” mentality over the last two years. He also discusses how being a father to his daughter motivates him. We also explore how Wisconsin basketball is adjusting to Greg Gard being named interim coach after Bo Ryan stepped down and examine a career path

Big Ten links: Football title game vote coming at NCAA Convention

The 2016 NCAA Convention is next week, and a vote will be taken on the Big 12 and ACC's proposal to deregulate rules surrounding league title football games. What exactly does that mean? Also in Friday's Big Ten headlines, two Big Ten football players wrote public letters to fans but for different reasons. Plus, Ohio State is dealing with seeing nine players entered the NFL Draft. Catch up in this post.

BTN LiveBIG: Michigan State professor shares 'his Paris' with the world

If someone asked you about the first thing that comes to mind when you think of inspirational art in Paris, your mind would probably turn to some grand, well-known example. The Mona Lisa, perhaps, or one of the many other paintings or sculptures in the Louvre. Or maybe you’d conjure up a mental image of an architectural masterpiece like the Eiffel Tower or Notre Dame Cathedral. The last place you might think to look is among the trinkets and decorations in a regular Parisian apartment. But photographer and Michigan State professor Peter Glendinning did look there, and that’s a big

Minnesota's Rachel Banham sets 3-point record in win

Minnesota’s Rachel Banham had a night that will be talked about for a long time by Golden Gopher women’s basketball fans. Banham scored a career-high 39 points and made a school-record 10 3-pointers in Minnesota’s 106-75 win over Illinois on Thursday night. The Gophers’ senior guard drained 10 of her 15 3-point attempts as Minnesota tied the Big Ten single-game record for 3-pointers with 19. Minnesota’s 106 total points was its second-highest ever in a Big Ten game. Check out the complete highlight at the top of this post. WATCH: @RachelBanham15 with the new program record 10 threes in a

Tom Dienhart's top 5 players to replace: Illinois Fighting Illini

Illinois has to welcome putting 2015 in its rear-view mirror. It was a bizarre season that saw Tim Beckman fired a week before the season started for alleged mistreatment of players. Bill Cubit was appointed interim and then permanent head coach, going a disappointing 5-7 a year after the program made a bowl. Then, A.D. Mike Thomas was fired. The defense made strides, but the offense struggled. The run game was the worst in the Big Ten (129.3 ypg). Things have to improve, right? Cubit will have some talent to work with, as players like S Taylor Barton, E Dawuane

Ohio State voted 'best game day atmosphere' in college football

What is your favorite place to watch a college football game? According to a group of recruits taking part in this weekend’s U.S. Army All-American Game, Ohio State has the best game day atmosphere in college football. The popular recruiting website, 247 Sports.com, conducted a poll of recruits at the high school all-star game. A total of 40 recruits were asked to choose the best game day atmosphere, and 10 of them went with OSU. Alabama came in second with nine votes, while Clemson and Texas A&M each received six tallies. Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska and Penn State each received
