Effective June 30, Joel Maturi will resign as Minnesota athletic director. Like him or not, Maturi did some good things for Minnesota and chief among those was the construction of $288.5 million TCF Bank Stadium, which opened on campus in 2009. Watch Thursday’s archived press conference video here.
“Rachel The Rookie” certainly hasn’t been playing like one this season, although, Rachel Banham has been racking up the Big Ten Freshman of the Week awards. On Monday, the Minnesota freshman guard was named the Big Ten’s Freshman of the Week for the fifth time this season. Only two players in league history have won it more.
