Four Big Ten stars in SI.com's first round NBA Mock Draft

The 2015 NBA Draft is more than two months away, but it’s never too early to speculate. Chris Mannix of SI.com recently released his 2015 NBA Mock Draft 1.0, which features four Big Ten names. [ MORE: Terran Petteway to enter the 2015 NBA Draft ] Ohio State’s D’Angelo Russell is the first name to appear on the list, going No. 6 overall to the Sacramento Kings. “Questions about Russell’s athleticism are drowned out by praise for his playmaking and brilliance in the pick-and-roll,” Mannix says. “Russell is an ideal complement to DeMarcus Cousins.” Russell has not formally declared for

Jerry Kill

Jerry Kill Q&A: 'We got fundamentally better in a lot of areas'

With each passing year, Jerry Kill keeps taking Minnesota to new levels. It has been quite amazing, really. From a 3-9 debut in 2011 to a trip to the program’s first New Year’s Day bowl since the 1961 season, it has been a fun ride in Dinkytown. And Kill looks to keep pushing the Golden Gophers up the hill in the Big Ten coming off an 8-5 mark (5-3 Big Ten). Don’t bet against him or his astute staff. Minnesota finished second in the Big Ten West last season before losing to SEC East champ Missouri in the Citrus Bowl.

Dienhart: Check out Purdue's 10-year NFL draft snapshot

Purdue has had some surprising success in the last 10 NFL drafts, with 19 overall selections and three first-round picks. Not bad for a program that has been to just four bowls in the last 10 years. Linemen have been the most common picks, with six coming on defense and five on offense. The Boilermakers’ ability to produce defensive ends/outside linebackers has been remarkable, with the likes of Ryan Kerrigan, Anthony Spencer, Cliff Avril, Ray Edwards and Rob Ninkovich coming off the board in recent years. And the “cradle of quarterbacks” has had two picks, with Kyle Orton and Curtis

Urban Meyer wants to name a starting quarterback by the middle of Ohio State's training camp (pssst, Ohio State's spring game is on BTN/BTN2Go Saturday). And there's a QB battle at Rutgers, too. And where dopes Jake Rudock fit in at Michigan? We take a spin around Friday's Big Ten headlines.

BTN LiveBIG: Rutgers grad a 'Major' success in politics, dentistry in his native Bahamas

Every Big Ten school has produced leaders who have reached the pinnacle of their professions, whether business, government, science and technology, medicine or education. High Profile takes a look at how these alums rose to the top of their field. In the annals of Big Ten Conference history, the island nation of the Bahamas probably is best known for supplying an export named Mychal Thompson. The former University of Minnesota basketball star wound up winning an NBA title with the Los Angeles Lakers and fathering budding hoops pro star Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors. But the talented Thompsons
