The Big Ten went 5-1 on Saturday to close out the nonconference season with a bang. There were plenty of memorable moments early on this year, so how do we go about summing up 12 teams and 153 total nonconference games? Simple — We follow the rules of twitter.
The 51st Ken Kraft Midlands Championships got underway Sunday at Welsh-Ryan Arena. After Day 1, Iowa (112) sits in first place, well ahead of second-place Illinois (57), the event’s reigning champion. Michigan is in fifth, while Wisconsin, Purdue and Northwestern all land in top 10. The action continues all day Monday, and the finals will air live at 9 p.m. ET on BTN/BTN2Go.
It was a busy day of hoops on the women’s hardwood Sunday, as seven Big Ten teams were in action. And all seven recorded rather easy wins, led by Indiana winning at Xavier to clinch a perfect 13-0 nonconference slate. The 13-0 start is the best in program history and also marks the program’s longest winning streak. Catch up on all the games in this post.

The calendar flipped to December, but Michigan’s misery continued. This 31-14 loss to Kansas State on Saturday night in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl was the Wolverines’ third defeat in succession and fifth in six games.
