Iowa is coming off a 4-8 season, its worst since 2000. So, no doubt, a good start would help. In fact, Bryce Miller of HawkCentral.com thinks the Hawkeyes’ opener Aug. 31 vs. Northern Illinois will set the tone for this oh-so-critical season.

At 8 p.m. ET tonight, BTN/BTN2Go will air a special 2013 NBA Draft edition of “The Journey: Big Ten Basketball.” Go behind the scenes with Illinois’ Brandon Paul, Michigan’s Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr. and Ohio State’s Deshaun Thomas, as they prepare for this month’s draft.

There are photobombs, and then there is what Ohio State fans did to Michigan legend Desmond Howard. At a recent event, the 1991 Heisman Trophy winner posed for a picture with a fan, while a trio of Ohio State fans spelled out “O,” “H,” and “O” behind him. That, of course, left the unsuspecting Howard and another fan to form the missing “I” in O-H-I-O.

Joey DeNato’s four-hitter helped Indiana to a 2-0 win over Louisville 2-0 in the Hoosiers’ first appearance in the College World Series in front of a TD Ameritrade Park-record crowd of 27,122.
