Clothes Call: PSU dons throwbacks in Rec Hall return

Penn State is playing its first game in Rec Hall today since January 1996. To commemorate the special day vs. Princeton (live on BTN/BTN2Go), the Nittany Lions are wearing throwback uniforms. See the uniform in this post, and track all the action here. True throwbacks like this one, complete with a defined waistband, are always a great sight. The Nittany Lions should consider making this uniform a regular alternate. VIDEO: @PennStateMBB fans will love this intro to team being back in Rec Hall for first time since 1996 WATCH – http://t.co/97gyRgwpCj — Penn State on BTN (@BTN_Penn_State) December 14, 2013

Who will be last to lose: Badgers or Buckeyes?

Two Big Ten men’s basketball teams remain unblemished: Wisconsin (11-0) and Ohio State (9-0). Both recorded another win Wednesday night, and both have a good shot to enter Big Ten play unscathed. But, which one will be the last to lose? I break it down in this post. Let’s just start with the near future, OK? There’s no need to start looking ahead to February or March and entertaining thoughts of an undefeated regular season. Maybe we can do that in a month or so, but not today. Minnesota to debut new helmet in Texas Bowl

Minnesota announced Monday that it will wear a new white alternate helmet in the Texas Bowl vs. Syracuse. The helmet features a maroon facemask and stripe down the middle, and has the Minnesota “M” logo on the right side and player numbers on the left side. See the helmet in this post. Clothes Call: Huskers break out new black uniform

Nebraska basketball broke out a new black alternate uniform Sunday at Creighton. The uniform showcased its share of red, the school’s primary color, too. The “Nebraska” on the front of the jersey was red, outlined in white, as were the player numbers. There also were red accents on the shoulders, waistband and shorts. See the uniform in this post. As you can see from the photo below, the Huskers called the special occasion “Back in the Black.” Our uniforms for tonight #Huskers #GBR #GATA pic.twitter.com/jcbvprJXOA — Nebraska Basketball (@HuskerHoops) December 8, 2013 One Nebraska product was very excited about the

Twitter: Ex-Spartans react to Big Ten championship

Michigan State players and fans weren’t the only ones proud of their football team late Saturday night. Former Michigan State players were quite pumped about their team beating No. 2 Ohio State and earning the conference’s automatic Rose Bowl berth, too. See some of the Spartans product’s celebratory tweets in this post. Photo: Did you see Auburn's 'Spartans' logo?

SEC fans are pretty serious about their football. Auburn fans are right up there at the top, and the most recent proof is in a creative logo that is being passed around the Auburn campus this week. See the Big Ten-centric logo in this post. An Auburn student sent this to me saying it's everywhere at their school & that we better beat OSU @michiganstateu 💚 pic.twitter.com/2DwZi3eOFC — Kennedy Lovelace (@kennedylovelace) December 4, 2013 Yep, that’s Michigan State’s logo in blue and orange, Auburn’s colors, and the words “War Damn Spartans,” a play on the school’s “War Eagle” chant. So long 'Challenge' stickers, hello technology

Before the NCAA banned on-court stickers, Tom Izzo and several of his fellow coaches made it known they weren’t fans of them. It’s not because the stickers resulted in an eye-sore, but because they were a slipping hazard and caused injury. ESPN found another way to get the Big Ten/ACC Challenge logo on the courts during this week’s event. The network digitally inserted the “stickers” on the court. And, you wouldn’t have known the stickers were missing unless you attended one of the games. These ACC-Big Ten Challenge emblems are being inserted digitally by ESPN. Minnesota unveils 'Dramatic Gopher' vs. Wisconsin

By now, you’ve probably seen one of the many “Dramatic Gopher” YouTube videos. Only a few seconds long, the brilliant set of videos has millions and millions of views. Its popularity should only increase after the Wisconsin-Minnesota game on Saturday. That’s because Minnesota used the little guy, twice, to taunt Wisconsin kicker Jack Russell. It worked once (missed 38-yard FG), and it didn’t work the other time (made 20-yard FG). Nothing can work 100 percent of the time, right? Regardless, this was a fantastic idea and excellent execution. A Minnesota spokesperson said the team had the “Dramatic Gopher” ready to

Twitter: Wisconsin's Frank Kaminsky did what?!

Tuesday night was Frank Kaminsky Night. The Wisconsin junior erupted for a program single-game record 43 points in a 103-85 victory over North Dakota at the Kohl Center. Kaminsky was on fire all night, making 16-of-19 attempts (84 percent), including all six 3-point attempts. Now, for a little perspective: The 43 points were one more than the previous Wisconsin record, held by Ken Barnes (1965 vs. Indiana) and Michael Finley (1994 vs. Eastern Michigan). Maybe even more impressive, the 43 points were as many as Wisconsin scored as a team twice last season. They also were only five fewer than
