Nebraska unveils new adidas throwback uniform

Nebraska has unveiled a new cream throwback uniform for Saturday’s Legends Weekend game vs. Northwestern. The uniform, designed by adidas, will honor Nebraska’s 1911-12 team, which went 14-1 and won the Missouri Valley Conference. See a photo of the uniform in this post. Cream is a bold color, and I like it. It’s not a look we’re used to seeing in basketball, but baseball teams, like TCU and Oklahoma, have worn cream throwbacks/alternates in recent years. This marks the Huskers’ second special uniform this season. They have also donned this black alternate. According to Nebraska, other than the length of

Throwback Thursday Q&A: Iowa's Jeff Horner

Jeff Horner had a fantastic four-year career at Iowa. From 2002-06, Horner started 122 games and was a stat-sheet stuffing point guard who averaged 12.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.1 3-pointers. He finished his career as Iowa’s all-time leader in 3-pointers (262) and assists (612). He also helped guide the Hawkeyes to their last two NCAA tournaments, in 2005 and 2006. Nowadays, following a pro career overseas and a stint with the Iowa Energy, Horner is the head coach at Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa. Read BTN.com’s full email Q&A with Horner in

Video: Glenn Robinson III hits buzzer-beater in OT

Needing a bucket in the final seconds to avoid an overtime loss at Purdue, whose number did John Beilein call? Nik Stauskas? Nope. Out of a timeout, and with 2.9 seconds left, the Wolverines sent the inbound pass to Glenn Robinson III. It was a dangerous pass, but Robinson III hauled it in, drove to the bucket, and put up a shot that danced on the rim before going down. The Ellen Show was on the Illinois campus for a segment Monday, and Illini defensive lineman Austin Teitsma made a cameo in the episode, which aired Wednesday afternoon. Video: Tom Izzo dances on top of ladder in ad

As you can see from the photo above, Tom Izzo is no stranger to climbing a ladder and cutting down the net. That being the case, Werner Ladder decided to use the legendary Michigan State coach as a spokesman for its new ladder. “There’s so much room up here,” Izzo said about the top of the ladder, “I feel like dancing.” [ MORE: Izzo rides Zamboni in Big Ten hockey promotion ] And, so he dances. New Wisconsin RB coach: 'This is Tailback U'

New Wisconsin running backs coach Thomas Brown is excited about his new role, and for good reason. Brown, previously at Marshall, gets to coach star Melvin Gordon, in addition to Corey Clement, who produced as a freshman. Brown is so impressed by Wisconsin’s backs and its history of standout backs, from Alan Ameche to Ron Dayne to Montee Ball, that he called the Badgers “Tailback U” in a team’s YouTube video. “This is an unbelievable place,” Brown said. “I’m really excited about it. This is Tailback U.” What do you think? As far as the Big Ten is concerned, the
