Sullinger, Taylor Make AP Preseason All-America Team

Expectations were already sky high for Ohio State’s Jared Sullinger and Wisconsin’s Jordan Taylor entering the 2011-12 men’s basketball season. The pressure is on even more now that they will have AP preseason All-America attached to their names all season long. Both players made the annual publication’s first team, released Monday, with Sullinger being a unanimous pick. Yes, the Buckeye sophomore was listed on all 65 ballots from a national media panel.

NU Debuts New adidas Unis Tonight on BTN

The Northwestern football team will debut new adidas alternate uniforms when it hosts Penn State at 7 p.m. ET Saturday on BTN. The uniform features an all-purple look, with “Wildcats” written on the left thigh and claw marks on the shoulders, and an all-silver helmet, with the players’ number on the side. BCS: The Case For White-Hot Wisconsin

As you’re probably aware, the initial BCS Standings were released Sunday night, and Big Ten favorite Wisconsin came in at a surprising No. 6. Considering the Badgers were ranked No. 4 in the Coaches’ Poll, many Badger fans were expecting a No. 4 or No. 5 ranking. The computers, however, had other ideas. Three of the six computers ranked the Badgers outside the top 10, including one at No. 17, which allowed perfect Oklahoma State and Boise State to land ahead of Wisconsin. Is that right? Six games in, six games to go. We officially reached the midway point of the 2011 college football season following the completion of Saturday’s slate of games. It’s been an eventful first half, for sure, as Illinois and Michigan are off to surprising 6-0 starts and perennial power Ohio State is 3-3, including 0-2 in Big Ten play. And we can’t forget to mention Wisconsin, the Big Ten’s clear favorite after humiliating its first five foes by a combined score of 242-51. Denicos Allen As Bobby Boucher

So, apparently, Michigan State watched The Waterboy last Friday night as part of Mark Dantonio’s weekly tradition of team movie night, and the next day Spartan Denicos Allen just so happened to go out and pull off his best Bobby Boucher impersonation. Like Sandler’s character in the movie, Allen leaped a blocker on his way to sacking the quarterback. Check out the two plays in this post.
