Photo: Ludacris posts Illini-themed #tbt shot

Did you know Ludacris was born in Champaign, Illinois? He made it known Thursday with a photo posted to his Instagram account. Along with the picture of his flashy blue and orange sports cars was this text: “#tbt my fighting illini whips.” Check out our latest Gone Viral posts: ROLLOUT #Illini style. RT @Ludacris: #tbt my fighting illini whips. http://t.co/3YE5P5QFHs pic.twitter.com/5tXyYe6qSZ — Illinois Athletics (@IlliniAthletics) August 1, 2014 We must say, @IlliniAthletics nailed its response! Rollout, indeed. By the way, this isn’t the first time Ludacris has represented Champaign. There was this, too.

Video: Wildcat coaches spoof Seinfeld's show

Jerry Seinfeld has Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, and now Northwestern has Coaches in Cars Getting Coffee. The Wildcats recently posted the Seinfeld-inspired video (watch above), and it features Pat Fitzgerald and Chris Collins driving around the city, hitting all the big sports venues, and talking sports. Collins plays “Seinfeld,” the driver in the video, and Fitzgerald is the guest sitting shotgun. Check out our latest Gone Viral posts: Northwestern’s choice of car? The Acura MDX. There’s a lot of fun stuff in this video. I bet it surprised no one to hear Fitzgerald say he was a big Mike

Bo Pelini unveils new Nebraska alternate uniform

Bo Pelini told reporters Tuesday at Big Ten media days that the team would break out a new alternate uniform for its Big Ten opener Sept. 27 vs. Illinois. On Friday, Pelini unveiled the new “Red Rising” design at a team meeting. He didn’t do it with the help of a mannequin, either. Nope, Pelini entered the room donning the new look himself. Watch the video and see pictures of the new design in this post. Photo: Joshua Perry shows off body, then and now

Strength and conditioning is no joke. Players spent countless hours lifting weights and getting their bodies in the ultimate game shape. We don’t always see great visual proof of the body transformations, but Ohio State linebacker Joshua Perry recently posted it to his Instagram account. Perry shared a picture that shows a side-by-side of his body from January 2012 until today. See the picture in this post. Check out our latest Gone Viral posts: #TBT Man, I've come a long way… Didn't like that guy from the past, so I made a change. This isn't enough though so I've gotta

Clothes Call: See new 2014 Big Ten football designs

Another Big Ten media days is in the books, and that means it’s time to take an early look at the new designs Big Ten football teams will wear in 2014. As of right now, other than Illinois, it doesn’t look like there will be a lot of new looks. But that can change in-season, because teams like to keep these things under wraps and Adidas, Nike and Under Armour can always decide to add a new wrinkle. See some of the new designs in this post. Iowa T Brandon Scherff is a 'football freak'

Iowa running back Mark Weisman offered an apt description of teammate and future first-round NFL draft pick Brandon Scherff during Monday’s Big Ten media day in Chicago. “He’s not just a weight room freak,” Weisman said. “He’s a football freak.” By now, it’s safe to say Big Ten fans have seen last week’s viral video, the one featuring Scherff cleaning 443 pounds three times. “I thought I did a lot,” Weisman said, “and he did 100 more pounds than me!” It shouldn’t surprise Weisman, or any of the Hawkeyes. As it’s been reported plenty of times, five years ago, Scherff

Video: Calhoun plays interviewer at media days

Michigan State safety Kurtis Drummond knew he had to make a statement Monday at Big Ten media days. Meeting the media in Chicago with the reigning Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year (Shilique Calhoun) and Big Ten title game and Rose Bowl Game MVP (Connor Cook), Drummond didn’t want to go unnoticed. So, he rocked a suit – and shoes – that made people take notice. [ MORE: Get all of our Big Ten media day coverage ] Even better, the aforementioned Calhoun interviewed Drummond about his attire. Watch the video above. “I just didn’t want to blend in

Ameer Abdullah, Melvin Gordon talk Big Ten's best RB

Ask anyone, and he or she will tell you the Big Ten is stacked at running back. Ask those same people, and they will say Nebraska’s Ameer Abdullah and Wisconsin’s Melvin Gordon are at the top of the deep talent pool. Who’s the best, though? “He is,” Abdullah said, pointing to Gordon. “Nah, come on!” Gordon responded. [ MORE: View the full 2013 Big Ten rushing yards leaders ] It’s a close race, let’s put it that way. Abdullah led the Big Ten in rushing yards (1,680) last season, just 81 yards ahead of Gordon. “It’s truly a blessing to

Kenny Bell never lost that bet or got rid of his hairdo

Don’t trust everything you see on Twitter. While the following, most likely, isn’t news to Nebraska fans, Kenny Bell never lost that bet or shaved his trademark hairdo. When asked about the haircut Monday at Big Ten media days in Chicago, Bell had a great laugh. “Come on, man, you fell for that, too?!” he said. Guilty. But so many others fell for his tweet, which got 374 retweets and 460 favorites, as well (here, here and here). “I threw it out there (on Twitter) to see what would happen,” Bell said. What happened is everyone thought the Big Ten
