2013 Big Ten Helmet Bracket: Round 2

It was all chalk in the opening round of our Big Ten helmet bracket. The biggest winner: Michigan State routed Northwestern, 71 percent to 29 percent. Now, it’s time for Round 2. See all of the matchups and cast your votes in this post.

Here’s how it works: The field is divided into the Legends Division and Leaders Division, with the champion of each meeting for the title, and BTN fans will vote on every matchup. Also, only primary helmets are considered.

Video: Michigan pitcher’s Harry Caray impersonation

Who doesn’t enjoy a good Harry Caray impersonation? There’s no shortage of examples, from Will Ferrell to Ryan Dempster, but we’re going to go ahead and put Michigan pitcher Kyle Clark’s rendition near the top of the list. Clark showed off his best Caray impersonation while introducing the Michigan lineup prior to Saturday’s game at Nebraska. Watch the entertaining intro here.

Illini men win first regional, off to 6th straight NCAA event

Sixth-seeded Illinois fired a one-over-par 289, the best round of the day, to win the NCAA Fayetteville Regional by three strokes over host and second-seeded Arkansas at the par-72, 7,251-yard Blessings Golf Club on Saturday. It marks the first regional title in school history and extends the Illini’s streak of consecutive appearances in the NCAA Championships to six straight seasons.

Friday’s Big Ten Baseball Roundup

Indiana clinched at least a share of its first Big Ten baseball title since 1949 with a 7-2  victory in 11 innings against Ohio State on Friday night. The Hoosiers move to 16-7 in Big Ten play with the win over the Buckeyes and hold a 39-13 overall record. The Hoosiers can clinch the championship outright, and the No. 1 seed in the Big Ten Baseball Tournament, with a win Saturday.
